I ventured into the College Football betting world last week and had Ohio State stopped Michigan in the first overtime on 4th down I would have been 3-1 looking pretty smart. But, now I’m just an average college football fan who is back for redemption on Championship Week.
Yes, I know some of you are wondering why I didn’t address the Clemson-South Carolina game. Well, my prediction was wrong and my theory was even more in the dirt, so I just decided to put down my shovel and move along. With that being said let’s get to some picks.
Colorado (+8) vs. Washington
Over the past few weeks I watched each team play in a major game (Washington vs. USC & Colorado vs. Utah) and I have to say they looked pretty even. Both teams have good quarterback play, a playmaker at wide receiver, sound defenses, and great coaching, so this one is tough to pick, but a great game to watch. However, I’ll give the edge to Washington in 4th quarter to pull it out, Colorado has had a remarkable turnaround this season although they don’t have the talent yet to pull together a PAC-12 Championship.
Penn State vs. Wisconsin (-3)
All week the talk has been about Penn State coming out of the east over Michigan and Ohio State and if they win will they get into the College Football Playoff. Here’s my unpopular opinion: Wisconsin sticks it to Penn State and beats them convincingly. Wisconsin can play with the big boys, they only lost by a touchdown to both Ohio State and Michigan. Penn State, on the other hand, got smashed by Michigan and won an ugly game versus Ohio State. Wisconsin surprises the nation and make the College Football Playoff Selection Committee breathe a little easier.
Florida vs. Alabama (-24)
24 points is a lot to give, but if you have watched Florida play this year you know how terrible their offense is. On the other hand you know how tremendous Alabama’s defense is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Alabama pitches a shutout. If you think Nick Saban and his players are looking past this game to the College Football Playoff just watch this Nick Saban Press Conference. Alabama again proves their dominance.
Virginia Tech (+10) vs. Clemson
I’m going to attempt to pick another Clemson game, let’s hope this one goes better than the one last week. Even after last week I’m still am not sold on the tigers. Virginia Tech is a very physical team that can match Clemson up front. Clemson has never been a team that blows out opponents in primetime games, however they always seem to pull it out at the end. I believe this game will be a dog fight that will won by a touchdown or less.
